Water ionizers can
dramatically change the properties of ordinary tap water. Through the
electrolysis process a concentration of alkaline and acidic water is
formed. This process also conditions the water to have a small molecule
size, making it more hydrating for the body.
Water ionizers work by concentrating the beneficial
minerals in source water.
Through the
electro-dialysis process antioxidants are formed. Because
electro-dialysis is an electrically induced process, it leaves the water
buzzing with extra electrons, which give the water a negative charge.
The negative charge
of the water, is measured in ORP. Water ionizers generate water with a
high negative ORP, because it concentrates water with spare electrons, or
electron donors. These electron-donors have the ability to neutralize
free-radicals, and remove them from your body.

water ionizers work by concentrating the “good minerals and molecules” and
remove the bad ones – creating an antioxidant rich solution that also helps in
restoring and maintaining the pH balance of your body!
You may have seen
bottles of alkaline water at your local grocery store. The pH of the
water in the bottles of alkaline water you get from the store typically range
from 6.0 to 7.8 alkaline, which is safe for drinking.
Here are the main
differences between Alkaline Ionized Water (from a water ionizer machine) and
Bottled Alkaline Water you get from the store:
- Bottled alkaline water uses chemicals and pH Buffers. Bottled
alkaline water is made alkaline with mineral or chemical pH buffers added
to the water. Water Ionizers create alkaline drinking water
naturally, and are chemical free.
- Bottled alkaline water has ZERO antioxidant value. Bottled
alkaline water has a positive ORP. Water ionizers create alkaline
drinking water with a high NEGATIVE -ORP.
ORP is the measure of
oxygen reduction potential of a substance. In context, ORP is the measure of a
fluids level of healthy antioxidants.
ORP and -ORP is
measure of oxidation reduction potential in a liquid, such as soda, water,
green tea and coffee. When a substance has a -ORP, it is through to neutralize
free radicals, and up take rogue oxygen atoms that may damage healthy cells in
the body.
You may have heard that green tea is
high in antioxidants, which is true. On average a cup of green tea will have a -ORP of 120mV.
On the opposite side of the ORP
scale is positive ORP. A positive ORP will cause excessive oxidation, and free
radicals in the body. Most soda products (acidic) and carbonated beverages have
a positive ORP.
Surprisingly, most bottled water
actually contributes to oxidation, because it has a positive ORP.
Alkaline water can help the body manage insulin production
(and therefore manage diabetes) in multiple ways. For starters, alkaline water
is of a higher pH, meaning that it can help neutralize acidic conditions in the
body because ionized alkaline water has smaller clusters of water molecules
which are more easily used by cells to help hydrate and flush acidic toxins. At
the same time, alkaline water has the added benefit of containing ionized
calcium, which is very easy for the pancreas to use.
When you replace the ordinary water that you drink with
alkaline water, you will start to see many benefits that are available to you.
Over time, the alkaline water will help to balance your system out. Doctors in
Korea and japan have been able to use water treatments alone to help reduce and
even eliminate the amount of insulin that their diabetic patients needed to
use.
Alkaline water is said to help counteract the acid that’s
found in your bloodstream. It’s thought that drinking water with a higher pH
can increase your metabolism and improve your body’s ability to absorb vital
nutrients.
Some theorize that this will starve any cancer cell found in
your body because cancer cells thrive in an acidic environment. Introducing
something more alkaline is said to slow or stop cancer growth by balancing your
body’s pH levels.
Cancerous cell do produce lactic acid, but it isn’t enough
to alter the pH level of your entire body.
Ionized water works on cancer in three major
ways. Because it is a good antioxidant, meaning it has a very negative ORP
value (Oxidation Reduction Potential), it neutralizes free radicals (i.e. ROS-
Reactive Oxygen Species), making many oxygen molecules available to the cancer
cells, either to slow the growth of cancer or to kill the cancer cells. This is
done with the hydroxyl ions in the ionized water.
